HONG KONG –  Primary school students in Hong Kong can finally meet again at classes on Tuesday, after the city’s worst wave of COVID-19 outbreak has subsided.

The Hong Kong Special Administrative Region government said earlier that schools would reopen after the Easter holiday, with half-day face-to-face classes resuming at the earliest in primary schools on April 19 and in secondary schools on May 3.

Students and teachers need to do rapid tests every day and 10 million rapid test kits were distributed for free to students in need, said the government.

School employees, but not students, will need to present a vaccination record to enter the campuses. All students can attend classes as usual, but only those who have at least one vaccine dose can participate in non-academic activities, the government added.
